At Home Conference Game Wins!!

The TarWheels played host to the Spartanburg Pistons in Concord, NC in two games on Saturday, November 3rd. These were the first of the TarWheels home games this season, and the familiar home court helped in building on that cohesiveness that the team will be improving upon throughout the year. The entire team contributed offensively in both games with big scores in the first coming from both David Hix and Roger White bringing in 20 points a piece. Pete Morgan and Richard Travis also scored 8 points. The final score, game one: 67-35. The second game's final score was 59-26, Travis scored 18 of those, Hix was good for 14, and White with 11 points! Defense looked good also, but The TarWheels are always looking to better themselves any way they can find! These games were conference games and were important wins for the TarWheels, although early in the season, the seeding in the Carolina's Wheelchair Basketball Conference (CWBC) could easily be decided by a single loss.

The team has a weekend off from games but will be practicing hard, getting prepared for North Charleston's Wheels and Steals tournament on November 17th and 18th. Many of the teams that will be at this tournament are in the CWBC and it will be a great opportunity to see how teams might have changed from last season. The TarWheels won the 2012 CWBC Tournament back in March, so no doubt, other teams will be bringing their highest level of competition!

Thank you all for your support of The TarWheels Organization and interest in our sporting outcomes! It was nice to see the fans in the stands over the weekend, hope to see all of you back at our next home tournament in January!
